The Department of Music Education has a longstanding reputation as a leader in the field, having produced highly visible and successful music educators at every instructional level. The department's mission is to provide future music educators with the necessary knowledge, skills and insights for successful teaching and learning. As part of the larger School of Music, Theater and Dance, our department is well poised to offer degree programs of extraordinary quality and diversity; the music education faculty ensures the development of instructional skills in a variety of classroom settings, while our eminent music faculty and guest conductors ensure the highest musicianship and performance standards.
