Music Computing Site (2231 Moore)

The Music Computing Site is a Campus Computing Site with 33 Mac computer stations, 6 Windows stations, and a Mac Media Conversion Station. The Media Conversion Station allows for transfer and editing of audio from LP, MiniDisc, or DAT and video from VHS or MiniDV tape.  Twenty-four of the stations are equipped with a Roland JV-35 MIDI keyboard and a MIDI interface.  In addition to the standard Campus Computing Site software list, all stations have both Finale and Sibelius music notation software installed.  The computing site is equipped with three printers, one of which can print on 11x17 paper.  Several scanners are also available.  The lab is accessed via card reader and is open during building hours to anyone with a UM faculty, staff, or student ID.

The Music Site helps to provide the listening resources needed for School of Music, Theatre & Dance classes in the form of online listening materials accessible through CTools websites. For information on making new listening material available through course websites refer to the Course Audio Guidelines.

Refer to the Lab Reservation Policies for information about how to reserve the Music Computing Site.
